Hello,

I think a change should be made so that players should be able to raid other cities whether they have a castle or not.  Castles should only be required to capture/destroy other cities (or be captured/destroyed).

You mean being able to plunder, without the attacking city having a Castle (just to clarify)?

yes.

I believe it would make the game a war game even for ppl who don't want to play to conquer etc.  and it would alter the dynamics of the early game.

I disagree with this idea.  I think that any kind of attacking should have to be done from a castle because that allows other players to take that castle away so that they can no longer be bothered.  I do think that the beginning game would be interesting if this were added as an option though.

after a player has 2+ cities (with at least 1 castle) they could easily wipe out any threat from any uncastled cities plundering them.

As far as early game goes...  7 of my closest 8 cities are inactives or not very active.  Why should I have to open myself up to destruction in order to take the resources from those cities?

And if uncastled cities can plunder other cities then it would perhaps bring City Guards and hideouts more into the early game.

No "vets" will make guards or hideouts regardless

As for "why castle to plunder"? By plundering you get more rss in a shorter time. Higher risk for a higher possbility to gain :)

PS: If you're not castling everything you're doing something wrong. (or you're just not playing competitvely which is fine I guess)

I think the game would be significantly different if it were possible to send plunders from uncastled cities, but it may still be interesting, just as the current game is.

Yes, this leads to another discussion for a different thread about how the current game really needs a balance of res buildings vs castles in my mind.  No point in even having other buildings actually... But again, for another thread I suppose...

From reading the replies something else occurred to me....

It would also add a strategic element as players would be able to build armies with no fear of losing their cities.  But obviously they'd still only be able to plunder so they would be no threat to other cities...  or would they?  if they castle overnight.


it would make the game a little less predictable cos just now ye know all the cities ye can be attacked from.
