Claim does get reset when 2 people are sieging the same castle and one of them takes it. The other player gets knocked back to 0% claim.

Claim resets when a castle is taken. If two players siege one castle first one to 100 gets it the other starts over, as it should because, it's under new management. Good idea that does work Emp, but it's still starting over.

Claim reset to 0% is not the way I remember it in other games.

In the final world of another game I was sieging the castle of a suspected inactive member of the enemy alliance. Reached somewhere mid-80% claim, all the time wondering why zero defense had shown up.

At that point the castle changed ownership to another member of the enemy alliance. My claim fell by around one third is what I remember.
But I had the last laugh as I managed to capture in a further 3 ticks time, and was then able to watch significant enemy defense stream in to support me.

if you recapture a castle rather than defend it you lose the troops in the castle, which is almost as bad as losing the castle itself if it's in a vulnerable (and thus probably also useful) outpost

If you canít defend those troops in the castle then you might as well not make matters worse by dumping all the troops into defending even without hope of winning.

well yea if you can't defend the castle you might as well try to recapture to stall the capture, but well in your hypothetical you had the option of defending the castle too

Calculator doesnt work properly for W14. I got sieged with 44k vanqs against 24k ranger and 7.5k tri, losses were counted wrong for both sides.

Did you get all the variables added in, like Wall level, Posts, After Dark Protection, Research, Loyalty, Morale etc...?  Also, did you change the dropdown from assault to siege?

Sure, i had 23600 rangers(+25%) and 7429 tri(+1%), against 44k vanqs(+20%) and 1 sennie. I had wall lvl 10 and towers for 23600 rangers. Calculator says that i had to kill ~6500 vanqs and gain ~242-247 puries, but i only killed 5333 vanqs and got 199 puries.

The attack was at 10:00:00, no moral protection...Yes, i changed dropdown

UPD: futher attacks went right, fullly same as in calc, so might it was game bug..

There is only one combat calculator that works perfectly, the old EA combat calc released by Phenomic way back when.  The formulas in that doc were used in the COTG code.

I believe that was only made available as an Excel spreadsheet? I never saw it anywhere else, although the math behind it was also released as a text document. I have both, btw (it's what I use for reference when I write all the tickets about things not working the way they're supposed to <g>). If anyone is interested, let me know and I'll make them available somewhere.
