Dyanamic ADP

Do dynamic/custom ADP. Let players pick an 8 hour range in their account settings from the main page. Use that as a permanent NP for that player once they join the server. If they change the range, it only affects the next server they join. You already have a code template for a player specific buff in morale as well as the current ADP setup. Mix those two up. Just need to make it so that it affects everyone supporting them unlike morale. It still has its own downsides as any system will, but then everyone gets an ADP, everyone gets an optimal ADP, and everyone can play together on equal yet somewhat random footing on the same servers.

I think this is a good idea.

Interesting idea. However, how will I know the NP time of the player I am attacking? You could have 5 castles from the same alliance clustered together with 5 different NP times. The defense has large advantages anyway, this would be another. So a "locking siege" could be made much more difficult for the bordering castles, or other castles in the area, making planning much more difficult also. Not knowing the NP of a player being attacked would just make it a crap shoot.
So, adjustable NP would make it a much different game, with much different strategies. Not all together a bad thing perhaps. For sure worth more discussion.

I would make it an easy to see stat on the player in any given world and make it so that when you download info to plan an attack, that comes along with. Heck, give a warning or some red wording saying "hey man, you know your are gonna hit this guy in NP right?" I would not make it a secret or hidden. Just like today, you wouldn't attack castles in NP so you would pick from fewer targets on any given hit, but there are usually far more targets than you can hit until you have turned the tide in your favor. Or use the old reverse psychology and hit some of those NP castles with reals to kill troops or smash em. In theory, if someone picks an ADP that lines up with your attack time, they arent gonna be online to move troops. They would have to rely on a sub which adds a level of likelihood of their troops not being involved and you could choose to not lock them. I would not make a players ADP function if they support someone else. So IF their sub is online they could move troops out but they would not get any ADP.
So in the end, I do agree it will do some things to favor the defender, but I think there are some balances to that. However, I don't think this game favors the defender on the whole. It does so mathematically in a 1 vs 1 castle or stacked castle, but attackers have all the initiative, they know the plan, they have fakes, they have locks etc. The defender has to be reactionary. I think if you look at how various continents have gone thoughout the servers, alot of teams have been able to take and destroy alot of castles despite the view that many hold of the defense having the advantage. I do think this would bring some balance to senny attacks vs siege engines and I don't know if that is a big deal but I think it makes them more equal in relevancy and making things relevant is a good thing to me but not a primary concern.
I'm sure I havent figured out all the pro's and con's of this, but I think I have to the point where I personally would take it over no ADP any day.

This was suggested a couple years ago. What Wolf said was the major issue. It would make choosing targets to defend easier since you couldn't realistically fake to any targets that would be under NP at the time of attack, limiting you options, resulting in non-NP castles stacked with troops. But I agree, it would be easy to implement. But, having my NP time displayed for all to see just let's everyone know when I am most likely not online. Screw that!!!

Yea, posting your NP makes it clearer who's on when but you still would have to worry about allies stacking your castle to take advantage of your ADP and still killing the attacker, just as could happen today. Players today already know probably more than half of their enemies play times and you don't see a ton of ADP attacks so I dont know if it would be different enough to be a problem.
The devs could put in a default ADP time of something similar to the W18 server time so if you left it at default at least you got some time to be safe even if it wasnt your perfect time and no one would know when your real times were. Could make for some interesting strategy on when to pick ADP. You could even pick a random time if it's that important to you. Most people have sleep time and work/school time which are both candidates for a ADP time. In the end since everyone has to make the decision it somewhat evens out.

I agree, GM should offer us more options, in a way that is interesting for me and for the new players. I would definitely go for Dynamic ADP.
I hope these changes will not happen in a few years...

I like the idea of dynamic ADP. Seems like it could be helpful.

Think I might be one of the strange few who doesn't mind no night protection. There are a fair few players who have been at a disadvantage for a long time with no worlds in there time zone so I actually think it levels the playing field. It might suck for me but I think its fairer. I liked MS idea to start with but I think the point about planning attacks is good and having to plan around 100 peoples different night protection sounds like a lot of hard work.
