Separating alliances any more than we are now will encourage farming.  I was looking at world view, and really, no matter how you spread us around, it will hinder combat.  Now, how about you merge 22, 23, 32, 33 into 1 mega continent, forcing every alliance to start on it.  Then we would all be equal distance to the surrounding 12 continents that would open next.  And regardless of cities on 22, new continents wont open for a month.  The fighting would be awesome.

This would be a good idea, and could actually improve the game in so many ways. There would need to be some basic things happen "if" we want to balance fighting, and growing for everyone, new and old player alike.
1. You would need to combine the same number of open slots from every continent into one, that would be 12888 if my math is correct.
2. You would need the same number of shrines, with the same sequence as normal for all 16 shrines now on the super continent. (this would improve fighting, but honestly just combining the continents straight up could destroy the metric of the game too. say 1 alliance gains super continent, never tries to expand they have 16 shrines locked up and never had to grow at all just devour 1 cont. so that may need to be adjusted.)
3. the opening order would be the same, for all continents except the super continent changing it to.
  - a new continent can open immediately when 2600 - 3000 cities are on the super continent
  - a new continent can open between 18 and 22 days when the super continent reaches a random number between 1800 and 2200
  - otherwise the new continent would open between 30 and 34 days.

This could both increase the fighting, and allow for the growth of new players for a couple of reasons. More shrines, on one cont, more land, longer time forced to hang out in one place. No more alliances spreading out and farming, finding hiding places, agreeing to have "safe" continents for each other. (all things that kill the game for fighters) Would eliminate the delayed start up strategy of alliances that lead to farming "usually". This could also break that 1 month boredom of COTG because it would be more fighting less farming.
Fog of war still would rule, so far as the shrines by straight up combining you could just cut the number to 8 on the super continent not sure how the code would handle that in the math exactly as it would be different than strictly modifying the map and the countdown timers.
